Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’68 Beija Flor Hair & Body Fragrance Mist ($35) is a new hair and body mist that contains notes of Brazilian Jasmine and Vanilla. And yes, you’ve probably heard by now it’s a dupe for Ariana Grande’s Cloud or Baccarat Rouge 540.
It’s not but I do yeah, it kind does give off that vibe.
Why Sol De Janeiro decided to launch Beija Flor Elasti-Cream with Collagen and Squalane separate from Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’68 Beija Flor Hair & Body Fragrance Mist is beyond me. I’m just relieved they did as I’m still waiting for a Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’71 Hair & Body Fragrance Mist Body Cream to drop. I hope they surprise me for Summer because I’d buy a case!
When I got my first jar of Beija Flor Elasti-Cream with Collagen and Squalane I sat for hours trying to figure out what it was that it reminded me of. It’s a very light scent with notes of Brazilian Jasmine, Pink Dragonfruit, and Vanilla. I never truly get the vanilla in this scent but I do get the fruity element of dragonfruit and the lovely soft delicate jasmine note. It finally came to me that it smelled a little like Cloud or Baccarat Rouge 540. No, it’s not a dupe. It has has the same DNA as the scent with a far more low-key, softer and less gourmand effect that you’d get from BR540. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t pair up beautifully with those scents.
It’s a lovely, close-to-the-skin floral scent with some playful sweetness. I quite like it. It’s grown on me because initially, I remember being a little disappointed that it isn’t as strong as other scents that the brand has available. This one wears close to my skin but after using the cream several times and finally having the chance the ability to layer with this new body mist it’s really grown on me.
It’s not one of Sol De Janeiro best scents but it is quite beautiful nonetheless. Don’t write it off! It really has a way of creeping up on you and you’ll find yourself enjoying it as I do. Sadly, as with all the body mists the brand does this is pretty weak and layering is key to preserving the scent and ensuring it lasts longer on your skin. I recommend the cream followed by the mist for the strongest throw and wear. Otherwise the mist alone just simply doesn’t cut it and wears away quickly leaving behind a very poor scent trail.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’68 Beija Flor Hair & Body Fragrance Mist is worth the haul in my opinion if you already own the body cream.
