How to make a Diamond Pickaxe
Making a Diamond Pickaxe in Minecraft is easy! All you need is two Sticks, three Diamonds, and a Crafting Table!
A Pickaxe is one of the several tools available in Minecraft, each with their own unique uses and benefits, so you’ll need a full loadout for the best Minecraft experience. With Diamond tools being among the most durable available, a Diamond Pickaxe will outlast others in terms of wear and tear.
While not the best tool to use as a weapon, a Diamond Pickaxe can come in handy in a pinch, dealing +5 attack damage.
To begin, open your Crafting Table.
You should see a crafting area consisting of a 3×3 crafting grid in the crafting menu.
To create a diamond pickaxe, fill the 3×3 crafting grid with three diamonds and two sticks in a T shape – the three diamonds making the top line, and the two sticks in the middle column below.
After completing the pattern in the crafting area, a diamond pickaxe will appear in the box to the right.
After completing the crafting process, you must add the diamond pickaxe to your inventory.

Where To Find Diamonds In Minecraft
To add a Diamond to your inventory in Survival mode, you must mine Diamond Ore. In Minecraft, Diamond Ore is very uncommon, and you must go mining below Y-level 16 to find any. The best level to go looking for Diamonds, though, is -53, due to a combination of both Diamond frequency and a reduced chance of dying to lava.
To mine Diamond Ore, you must use an Iron Pickaxe, a Diamond Pickaxe, or a Netherite Pickaxe. Other tools are incapable of digging and dropping a diamond, and will take a long time to break down the ore, before essentially destroying it and wasting the ore as nothing will drop.
Attack Damage And Durability
The attack damage of an item refers to the amount of damage it provides to a monster when it attacks. Durability is a concept that relates to the length of time that a thing will last. In the context of Minecraft tools and weaponry, durability refers to the number of useful functions the item may do before being destroyed. Similarly, when it comes to Minecraft armor, durability is a term that relates to the number of impacts that an armor piece can sustain before breaking. Thus, the higher the rating, the more durable the item.
The following table summarizes the attack power and durability of each pickaxe discovered in Minecraft:
Things To Do With Diamond Pickaxes
Diamond Pickaxes are the market’s strongest and second-fastest pickaxes. Additionally, it has a greater capacity for harvesting resources than any other Pickaxe, including all Ores, Stone, and Obsidian.
Although Golden Pickaxes are the highest-tiered Pickaxes, they mine Stone more quickly than Diamond Pickaxes.
This is not the case with Obsidian; nonetheless, Golden Pickaxes remove Obsidian at a far slower rate than Diamond Pickaxes.
It is the only Tool capable of mining Obsidian, although slowly. It is an extremely uncommon Pickaxe that, once crafted, is considered a very valuable instrument.
As the diamond pickaxe is the only item that can be used to mine Obsidian, it is an extremely important item to the player to get to the Nether.
Enchantments For Diamond Pickaxe
In Minecraft, an enchanted diamond pickaxe is one of the numerous tools available. Enchantments may be applied to objects via an Enchanting Table, Anvil, or a game command. if you need to know more, take a look at our in depth guide on how to enchant items in Minecraft.
A diamond pickaxe may be enchanted with the following enchantments in Minecraft:
Curse Of Vanishing
You may use the Curse of Vanishing enchantment to curse an item in the game. When this enchantment is placed on an object, it becomes cursed and vanishes when a player dies in the game (instead of being dropped after the player dies).
Efficiency increases how quickly you can mine blocks in the game.
Fortune increases the number of blocks gained via mining. For example, the Fortune enchantment improves the probability of finding flint in gravel or an apple in a tree.
The Mending enchantment uses experience to repair your equipped equipment, weapons, and armor. Each time you gain experience by defeating monsters or mining certain minerals, it will be used to fix any damaged equipment, weapons, or armor you have equipped.
Instead of depending on falling things, the Silk Touch enchantment lets you mine blocks directly. This enchantment grants you the ability to acquire fragile and breakable things such as glass or ice. Alternatively, you may dig and harvest the block itself, such as diamond ore or coal ore, instead of obtaining diamond and coal drops.
The Unbreaking enchantment effectively increases the durability of your tools, weapons, and armor, enabling them to survive longer. This is performed by minimizing the possibility of the instrument, weapon, or armor suffering durability damage during use.
Best Diamond Pickaxe build
Since you won’t need some of the above enchantments, and others are mutually exclusive, here is the best enchanted Diamond Pickaxe you should be trying to create in your survival Minecraft world. Due to how Netherite works, you can then turn your enchanted Diamond Pickaxe into an enchanted Netherite Pickaxe, without losing the Enchantments.
- Fortune III – For getting the most out of your mining! Instead of ore dropping one raw item, it will drop an increased amount. For example, you could get up to four Diamonds from one Diamond Ore block with Fortune III!
- Silk Touch – For mining the exact item, rather than its drop. For example, mining Diamond Ore with Silk Touch will drop Diamond Ore, or mining Stone will drop Stone, as opposed to Cobblestone. Perfect if you need a lot of Stone for building.
